       2019 was a year of warning. The enemy, brimming with confidence, showed his hand. I did my best to keep you posted. As we head into the future, your life as a Christian will be more challenging.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

      Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

         Regarding trends, 2019 was the year when the attacks on the First Amendment went into overdrive. There are anti-American forces in America that will do anything they can, legal or not, to eliminate Constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion. For example, there are presently very powerful and extremely well-funded forces making their greatest push yet to declare the New Testament “hate speech” with the purpose of eventually eliminating it. While this may sound impossible or even ridiculous to you at present, the people who perpetrate it are relentless and have been going at it for a long time. If you’ve never heard of this movement, like everything else, I suggest you immediately do your own research. You will be shocked. This is only one of many efforts attacking fundamental rights and the liberty to obey the Lord Jesus without concern of reprisal.

         Real Christianity is under attack like never before. Christian persecution is rapidly advancing in the world and is now manifesting very powerfully in America. Most ministers and churches never talk about this. It proves they are either ignorant and unaware or remain a big part of the problem. The Lord does not appreciate Judases, money-firsters, and those who water down His powerful Word for social acceptance, and American Christianity is saturated with these at present. Believe me, it will only get worse.

          2020 will mark a time when you as a Christian will have to make hard choices on whether or not you will continue following the Lord and honor Him first or kowtow to the culture, including unreal Christianity. Great temptation to back off and to compromise is coming. While this temptation has always existed and is why most of what is referred to as Christianity is merely a faux form thereof, the heat is currently being turned up to its highest levels yet. For Christian organizations who have already succumbed to money and the sinful culture, some of which I hope are deceived, their presence will continue to influence others to follow suit.

         Do not take this warning lightly. I predicted in my book, Real Christianity, writing almost a quarter century ago, and seeing it before then, that great Christian persecution was coming to America. Those who remember that time also remember that such an idea appeared impossible, but everything I wrote then has been coming to pass. This has happened and continues to happen for one central reason: Many American Christians have betrayed the Lord for a fake “easy’ Christianity. Unreal Christianity has become the default and official form. This adds pressure to real Christians and allows for “Christians” persecuting Christians. It permits an unholy hybrid in which fake monetary Christianity and geopolitical economic interests join forces. Both of these have a common enemy.  

WE ARE WINNING

       The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe. [Proverbs 18:10]         

         So be encouraged. The Lord never leaves His people without the means to stand and continue on. He is always faithful. He always provides. There remains a very powerful spiritual kingdom on the planet where righteousness dwells in which we can have safety and support. We remain in the early part of a coming Great Awakening. It is based on Truth that will bring forth a powerful revelation of the Lord Jesus and His actual teachings along with His Light shining everywhere else. This means lies, misinformation, and disinformation are being exposed for what they are. The lies that hide the truth are being torn away. It will no longer be possible for these to remain hidden and includes exposing the perpetrators, some of which are fake and/or compromised Christian “leaders.”

          And He was saying to them, “A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand? For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” [Mark 4:21-23] [1]

          It is vital that we all grow closer to the Lord than ever before. What follows are links to every post I made in 2019 starting in January. There’s a lot of good writing here to further your Biblical knowledge and current events awareness. Take note of the titles.

    Fundamentalist preachers under whom I grew up–including my own father–have been ringing this warning bell for decades. When God and prayer were kicked out of the public school system, it was considered the first obvious shot across the bows of freedom of religion. The process, though, actually started long before that, in teacher’s colleges around the country where students were taught that they were to be “agents of change” to drag their students out of the “darkness of old-fashioned religion that focused on sin and salvation” instead of the innate goodness of man. Secular humanism became the drumbeat of these “agents of change,” and any of your readers who have not ever seen the Humanist Manifesto” should look it up. It’s slowly but surely becoming the central issue: Belief in God vs. Intellectual Awakening.

    It is significant that places such as China, Africa, and even Iraq are seeing steadily increasing growth in the numbers of real believers. Those countries have already been through the Worship of Man, and know how empty it is.

    We need to wake up.

      Excellent summary, Linda. Thanks. Your comment is a good refresher course on how we got here. One thing most Christians still have a hard time understanding is that the attack on Constitutional rights, especially the rights of Christians, has always been part of a secret planned agenda. There are powerful people who hate the Lord Jesus and the love and liberty He stands for and teaches. There have certainly been many Christians and Christian organizations fighting the evil agenda all along but have fared badly, likely because they refused to recognize it as a spiritual fight. Most Christians in America refuse to be Spirit-filled and thus have no spiritual power to counteract and overcome the evil spiritual power doing all the damage. Many Christians have also been turned into little puppies in that they have been taught that the right thing to do is never fight back but simply lie down and be victimized. The early Community of the Lord did just the opposite.

      There are people of many different persuasions coming to the Lord all over the world at present, as you stated, but there are also powerful attacks against spiritual freedom through the growth of corporate and government surveillance methods designed to restrict freedom and install mass conformity. China is presently the world leader in the suppression of rights but it is happening here too. We live in a time much like the height of the Roman Empire when government control was extremely powerful but also when it was never easier to spread the Gospel far and wide. Rome had an excellent infrastructure and transportation system that made travel relatively easy and fast. I was always intrigued with that fact when I learned it long ago, in that the Lord somehow had it all planned.

      So while there is growing evil to restrict freedom in the world at present it is also the greatest time ever to preach and teach the real Gospel through a seemingly endless means of worldwide communication methods and devices. This will not change. All control mechanisms will fail. The Lord somehow had it all planned.

        I remember my dad teaching on Jesus birth at the perfect time in history. Roman subjugation and road-building make traveling easier. Greek was the most common language. The spread of the gospel when Christians fled persecution took the gospel to all of the known world. Perfect timing, indeed.

    Great warning!
    People mocked David Wilkerson’s 1973 sermon but it has happened just as he said it would.. A few years ago I read an article that stated there is a so called church in VA where everyone attends naked.. I was appalled, yet I remembered back to his sermon.
    I fear pastors are not sounding an alarm in the churches, or on streets.
    They work hard at gatherings and charitable events that look great in christian news.. The events taking place all around us point to Jesus Christ returning soon, and it should be a topic in more churches.

      When there is no urgency regarding sin it is a dead give away, pun intended. The majority of those who call themselves Christian in some form or another, including many of those who insist on identifying themselves by their denominational name, have never been born again, as the Lord said all of His followers must be. His real followers have been. Those who refuse to truly follow Him and obey His teachings have never experienced the new birth, regardless of what they may think or have been told by fake ministers. It is truly a mass blind leading the blind situation. Fake ministers have agendas completely different from the Lord’s. To preach the cross is anathema to them. It makes people angry, drives down sales, damages their brand, lowers their stock value, and greatly reduces their popularity, which closes doors and brings retribution and persecution. What minister wants any of that? Their followers would rather follow them than follow the Lord. They would rather live in the world than in the Lord’s Kingdom. And most diabolical, they would all rather join up with the very powers that oppose the Lord and persecute His people. It happened to the Lord Jesus, His first disciples, the early Church, ever since, and is happening now. Preaching Christ crucified brings conflict with the world and unrepentant sinners but is also the power of the real Gospel which brings spiritual Life to the lost who truly want salvation.

      We now live in a blessed time in which the Lord is exposing sheep’s clothing for what it is.
